Aliyah Boston, born December 11, 2001, in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, is an American professional basketball power forward/center for the Indiana Fever in the WNBA.[2][6] She began playing basketball at age 9, inspired by her older sister Alexis, and moved to Massachusetts at 12 to live with her aunt, attending Worcester Academy where she led teams to an 86-10 record, two Class AA NEPSAC Championships, and three Gatorade Player of the Year awards.[3][4][6] At the University of South Carolina (2019-2023), Boston became the program's all-time leader in starts (138), rebounds (1,493), and offensive rebounds (518).[7] A four-year starter, she helped the Gamecocks win three SEC regular-season titles, three SEC Tournaments, and the 2022 NCAA National Championship, with a 129-9 team record.[1] She earned consensus All-America honors, the Naismith Trophy, SEC Female Athlete of the Year, two Lisa Leslie Awards, and National Player of the Year from *The Athletic*.[2][3] Notable performances included a program-first SEC triple-double (16 points, 11 rebounds, 10 blocks vs. Georgia) and 80 career double-doubles.[1][2] Internationally, Boston won four USA Basketball gold medals, including MVP at the 2017 FIBA U16 Americas Cup and golds at U-17 (2018) and U-19 (2019) World Championships.[1][6] Selected No. 1 overall in the 2023 WNBA Draft by the Fever, she was named 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year and an All-Star.[3] As of recent standings, Indiana holds a 24-20 record in their division.[5] Boston continues as a key Fever player, building on her dominant college legacy.[2][5]
